Types of Shot Blasting Machines


A shot blasting machine is a device for removing rust on

metal surfaces using grit or steel shots. The machine has an

enclosed chamber for grit and steel shots. It has a spinning

wheel that continuously draws media in and out of the

blasting chamber. The speed of the bare wheel is usually

high enough to move large amounts of material. The bare

wheel is equipped with a lou that dispenses the material to

the shooting equipment. The capacity of the bare wheel may

vary from 60kg per minute to 1200kg/min.

A shot blasting machine is typically divided into two types:

hook and stand-alone. The hook type uses a single hook or

double hook for loading workpieces. The hook loads the

workpieces alternately. The low-speed rotor pushes the


materials in and out of the machine basin. The medium-

speed rotor rotates the materials so that they become mixed.


A low-speed-hook shot blasting machine is often the most common type of machine, and is the

best option for smaller industrial applications.
